Jeep covers a lot of ground — the Wrangler is its own category, the Grand Cherokee and Cherokee are family-SUV mainstays, and the Gladiator brought back the Jeep pickup. Around New Braunfels you'll see Wranglers on the dirt roads out toward Canyon Lake, Grand Cherokees doing school runs, and the occasional Gladiator headed to a job site. Each model has its own service patterns, but most share platforms and known issues with the broader Stellantis lineup. Frank's Automotive services Jeep with the diagnostic capability the brand requires.

Common Jeep issues we see

The patterns by model:

  • Wrangler death wobble — front-end shake at highway speed in 4WD models with worn steering or suspension components. Track bar, drag link, ball joints, and steering stabilizer are the usual suspects. We diagnose the actual cause, not just throw a stabilizer at it
  • Pentastar 3.6L V6 rocker arm / cam failure — known on early Pentastar engines; engine pull and head work
  • 2.0L turbo (Wrangler / Cherokee) — turbo and oil cooler issues; valve cover oil leaks
  • Grand Cherokee air suspension failures — compressor, air bags, leveling sensor
  • 8HP transmission (ZF 8-speed) — generally robust but needs fluid service on schedule
  • TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) failures on older Grand Cherokee / Cherokee — phantom electrical gremlins
  • AC compressor / condenser leaks across the lineup

What we offer for Jeep owners

  • Wrangler death-wobble diagnosis and repair (full steering and suspension inspection)
  • Pentastar rocker arm / cylinder head service
  • 4WD system diagnostics — transfer case, front and rear differentials
  • Aftermarket lift / tire compatibility (we'll align it to spec for the new ride height)
  • Brake repair, oil changes, transmission service
  • Collision and auto body — including Wrangler aluminum panel work (we're I-CAR Gold for aluminum)
