- 5.4L 3-valve Triton spark plug seizure (2004-2008 F-150, Expedition, etc.) — plugs break off in the head; specialized removal techniques required to avoid head replacement
- EcoBoost issues — carbon buildup on intake valves (GDI), wastegate actuator failures, turbo issues. Direct-injection cleaning service typically every 60,000-80,000 miles
- 6F35 / 6F50 transmissions — torque-converter shudder common; fluid flush + valve-body service often catches it before transmission replacement
