What's involved
Hail repair is a structured process:
- Damage assessment — counted by panel (hood, roof, doors, trunk/tailgate, fenders), graded by dent size and depth. Larger dent counts and deeper dents push the repair from PDR-only into panel replacement
- Insurance claim coordination — we work directly with your adjuster. Most hail claims fall under your comprehensive coverage with deductible only. We handle the supplemental claim if hidden damage shows up during the repair
- PDR for the majority of dents — undented panel-by-panel by our PDR specialists. PDR keeps your factory paint
- Panel replacement where dents are too severe (heavy crease, broken paint, stretched metal) — followed by PPG-process refinishing
- Windshield and glass — if cracked or chipped beyond ADAS-safe repair, we'll replace and recalibrate the camera (mandatory on modern vehicles with lane-keep, forward-collision, or auto high-beam)
- Sunroof/moonroof glass — checked for cracks and seal damage
- Trim and emblems — replaced where damaged
- Final inspection under panel-inspection lights so nothing slips through
When to bring it in
Bring the vehicle in:
- After any significant hailstorm in the area — bring it in even if you don't see damage; small dents are nearly invisible until inspected under the right light
- As soon as you can — Texas can run two or three significant storms back-to-back; getting your vehicle into the queue early matters
- Before you do anything with insurance — we can do an inspection and a preliminary estimate, which makes the claim process faster
- If you see body damage AND a cracked windshield from the same storm — bundle the claims; they're often the same comprehensive claim
Why not put it off? Decreased resale value, rust starting at any chipped paint, and worse damage if another hailstorm hits the same panels. Texas hail damage doesn't get better with time.
